Iron Skies was completed over the first four months of 2004 with initial recording in Dec. 2003.
Goldmine, the opening track and chosen song to be the single for Iron Skies, releases a soft, slight country feel. It
seems to bring out the emotions Mr Byrne holds deep within. Moonshine gets nervy with a contagious '60s-'70s sounds.
Paint It Grey's harmonica lends the song a more country feel. George goes back to a softer acoustic feel and flaunts
his gorgeously rough voice, hitting notes just perfectly. The Pictures brings back the Pink Floyd moves with exquisitely
deep lyrics that edge darkness. Iron Skies finishes well with Sail showcasing Byrne's creation of something that is
soft, elegant, poppy and slightly country.
Long story short, Iron Skies is a well done combination of rhythms that will take you to opposite moods within minutes
without being annoying or depressing.
